On reading a detailed account of a 20th century war, I must respond with these words:
No nation has cause to be proud of its wars, for every war has atrocities, innocent victims, dispossessed refugees, and other unintended consequences. War is sometimes a necessary evil, but more often a misadventure of catastrophic results.
Until the day of Micah 4:3 humankind cannot claim the title of civilization without blushing in shame.
